The painting trip of a LIFETIME!
What an experience! Plein air painting across Tuscany with eight of my dearest artist-friends… SIGN ME UP!!!
We landed in Rome around 8:00 am and hit the ground running… we walked the city all day and ended the night with dinner in Trastevere. Early the next morning was a private tour of The Vatican and St. Peters Basilica. STUN-NING. Simply stunning. All of Rome is stunning and I will most definitely go back one day.
That afternoon, we drove to our villa just outside Cortona - Villa Nobile. Magical! The grounds were serene and lush, Italian cypresses as far and the eye can see. And the sunsets! I’ve never experienced these colors in real life.
For the next several days, we plein air painted across Tuscany - stopping in Orvieto, Cortona, Montepulciano, Lake Trasimeno and a local vineyard to paint the gorgeous views.
A day trip to Florence was pure magic seeing Michelangelo’s David and Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. It was most definitely trip of a lifetime and I’ll be back again. Ciao!
